Wellbore Fractures

On the Wellbore Fractures form (simulation > ConnectFlow > Wellbore Fractures) you select the fracture sets identified from the wellbore data. The fracture sets are identified as well markers in JewelSuite 2026.1 Subsurface Modeling, and are stored in the JewelExplorer under the Marker Sets folder in the Well Data. Depending on the fracture model, fracture sets could be allocated per well or per reservoir zone. For example, you can have same set of fractures as one fracture set for all the wellbores intersecting the reservoir zone of interest, or you can also have multiple fracture sets with each fracture set assigned to individual wellbores.

The options on the Wellbore Fractures form are updated if your solution does not have any fracture set data available. In such cases, you can use stratigraphic zones or fluid zones as filter and select the wellbores that you want to export to ConnectFlow. Consequently, only the wellbore deviation data from the filtered zones is exported to ConnectFlow.

Selecting wellbore fracture data

  1. On the form, select the Model from the drop down list. The following options in the form are dependent on the availability of wellbore fracture data in your solution.
  2. There are two possible scenarios:
    1. If the solution consists of fracture data, a list of fracture sets are listed in the Wellbore Fractures table. Select the fracture sets that you want to include by checking the adjacent checkbox. In the Wellbores table, the Well group and the wellbores consisting of the selected fracture set data are selected by default. You can add or remove other wellbores, or change the well group.
    2. If the solution does not consist of fracture data, the form shows the Wellbores table and a Zone Filter table. Select the Well group from the drop down list from the wellbores table and check the adjacent boxes to select the wellbores. The zone filter options in the drop down list consists of the Levels created from the stratigraphic model of the source 3D grid, or the fluid zones created in the fluid modeling workflow available as 3D grid property.
  3. Click Apply to select the wellbore fracture data and click Next, or OK to select the wellbore fracture data and move to the Export Model form.
